Pre-Delivery Service

You’ll be stunned by how thorough our pre-delivery service is when you pick-up your new or used caravan at Dave Benson’s. We’ll run through every aspect of your new van, so that when you leave, you have all the information you need.

If you start on your trip and you can’t remember something – don’t worry. We are still only a phone call away and we’re more than happy to give you the same level of support you can expect if you were on site at Dave Benson Caravans.

Hook-Up Section

  • Test 7 pin plug on tow vehicle
  • Tow coupling (locked down position)
  • Hand brake operation
  • Make sure front stone shield is locked down and corner jacks are all in transit position
  • Fold back and release handbrake cable
  • Remove jockey wheel
  • Connect D shackles to safety chains and tow bar
  • Hook on brake-safe wire (if applicable)
  • Remove jockey wheel
  • Connect D shackles to safety chains and tow bar
  • Hook on brake-safe wire (if applicable)
  • Connect 7 pin trailer plug
  • Connect hitch or level rides (if applicable)
  • Check all exterior lights are working
  • Switch fridge to 12 volt (if required)
  • Make sure roll out awning catch is in roll up position, with travel catches secured (if applicable)
  • Use of brake control unit with van fitted to car
